A 43-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, 14 February 2026, following a report of rape of a 15 years old girl in Steiloop Gilead_ Limpopo Province.
According to police, the victim informed her mother about the alleged rape two days before Valentine’s Day and refused to open a case.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says it is alleged that the stepfather raped her several times since 27 December last year 2025 and again on 31 January 2026.
Police say the rape ordeal was reported by a relative of the victim after receiving the information.
The stepfather was arrested at his own place at Rebohe RDP’s area in the early hours of Valentine’s Day.
The suspect will appear before Gilead magistrate’s court on Monday, facing a charge of rape.
