Joint Media Statement FREE STATE – A collaboration between the Hawks’ Priority Crime Specialised Investigation (PCSI) and Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has resulted in over R260 000 in cash being preserved. The preservation order was granted by the Free State Division of the High Court of South Africa, in Bloemfontein. The frozen money was in the bank account of widow, Halimmah Mnyobisi (39) of Botshabelo, who is alleged to have orchestrated the death of her husband, Fezile Mnyobisi (35). Fezile was stabbed while walking home from a tavern in Botshabelo on 15 September 2023. It was later revealed that Halimmah and two male accused had planned the murder. Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) paid out about R300 000 to Halimmah following the death of her husband. Asset forfeiture investigators of PCSI and AFU worked tirelessly to secure the preservation order. Meanwhile, Halimmah and her accomplices are before the Botshabelo Magistrates Court for conspiracy to commit murder and murder. Ends
