Simone Biles has had enough.
The celebrated gymnast recently took to Instagram to fiercely defend her husband, Jonathan Owens, against persistent online trolls.
SIMONE BILES HAS HAD ENOUGH
This comes five months after Owens faced backlash for a comment he made about being the better “catch” in their relationship.
The negativity hasn’t let up. Biles, however, isn’t having it, according to Page Six.
In a fiery Instagram Story, Biles addressed the ongoing disrespect head-on.
“I’m going to quickly address this, the joke was never a joke!” she wrote.
SIMONE BILES SHUTS DOWN HATERS
“So I’m gonna go ahead & say this one time. Respectfully, f–k off.”
Biles didn’t mince words, according to Huff Post.
She made it clear that she’s prepared to block anyone who continues to spread negativity.
“If people keep commenting or tweeting at me, I’m just going to block you.
Simple as that,” she stated.
SIMONE BILES AND OWENS
Her message was blunt, yet empowering. She’s done tolerating disrespect towards her husband and their relationship.
The Olympic star’s frustration stems from a comment Owens made on The Pivot podcast in December 2023.
During the podcast, Owens jokingly said he was the “catch” in their relationship, according to the Mirror.
The remark sparked a wave of criticism. Many fans took the comment seriously, urging Biles to leave him.
OPENING UP
Simone Biles defended Owens in April on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
She explained that his comment was taken out of context.
“He’s the sweetest. He praises the ground that I walk on. Truly, I’ve never met a man like him … he truly goes out of his way to do anything for me,” she said.
Despite her defence, the trolls continued.
Biles shared how deeply the comments hurt her.
A GOOD HUSBAND
“One night I broke down and I’m like, ‘Why are you guys talking about my husband like this?
You don’t know him. You don’t know who he is and if anybody’s met him, you know he’s the sweetest guy, will do anything for anybody,’” she revealed.
Recently, Simone Biles posted a heartfelt photo of Owens kissing her at the 2024 Core Hydration Gymnastics Classic.
She captioned it, “My whole heart 🤎🤞🏾 the best supporter, I couldn’t ask for a better husband.”
Owens responded with, “There with you every step of the way🤞🏽.”
FACING NEGATIVITY
But even this sweet moment was marred by negativity.
Some users continued to mock Owens, with comments like “I still don’t know his name lol” and “Did he finally find out who you are?”
However, many fans also rallied in support of the couple.
“It was so amazing to see him stand by you the way you stand by him at his games,” one supporter wrote.
Another commented, “We love The Owens’!!!!!! 😍🥰 Stay loving each other cute lovebirds.”
A POWER COUPLE
Biles concluded her Instagram story by thanking her supporters. “We love y’all so much,” she wrote on behalf of herself and Owens.
She also dismissed the suggestion that she needed to “touch grass.”
This is a phrase implying she should disconnect from online drama.
FIERCELY PROTECTIVE
“No I don’t need to touch grass or whatever tf y’all suggest…,” she snapped.
Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens began dating in 2020 after meeting on a dating app and got married in April 2023.
Despite the ups and downs, Biles remains fiercely protective of her husband and their marriage.
Her message to the haters is crystal clear: their love is strong, and the trolls can respectfully, f–k off.
