Sia’s estranged husband, Daniel Bernard, is asking for more than $250,000 per month in spousal support following their separation. The couple, who married in December 2022 and share an 18-month-old son, split earlier this year when Sia filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

Bernard, a former doctor, claims he needs the funds to maintain the “luxurious lifestyle” the couple shared during their marriage. He said he became financially dependent on the singer after leaving his medical career to help run a joint business venture that ultimately failed.
According to court documents, the couple’s monthly expenses reportedly topped $400,000, covering private jets, luxury vacations, fine dining, and several full-time staff members. Bernard argues that temporary financial support is necessary, noting that Sia was the primary earner in the marriage.
He also stated that returning to medicine would take years, as he would need to retrain and pass several exams to regain certification. In addition to monthly support, Bernard is asking for help with legal and accounting costs.
Sia has not publicly commented on the ongoing legal proceedings.
