A Polokwane Magistrate’s court has on Friday granted Lehlongonolo Katlego ” Shebeshxt ” Chauke (31) permission to seek medical treatment.
This follows Shebe’s attorney’s last attempt to fight for his client’s medical evaluation.
Magistrate Felleng Ntilane granted Shebeshixt a weekend away from the Polokwane Correctional Facility.
Instead, he will spend it at the Polokwane police station until Monday ( 18 May 2026)
It is alleged that Shebe Maburna has been consulting a Mokopane medical doctor concerning his right leg and arm ever since his car accident.
According to his attorney, the artist’s right leg has been implanted with screws, and they believe it might have dislocated.
The state was not given a chance to grant the request or oppose.
Magistrate Ntimale stated that she had previously heard in court concerning the neglect of inmates by Correctional Service officials.
The state has added more charges:
- 4 Attempted murder
- 5 Possession of an unlicensed firearm
- 3 Robbery with aggravating circumstances
- 1 Malicious damage to property
- 6 Assaults with the intent to cause bodily harm
- 1 Assault with an open hand ( clap)
Attorney Khumalo expressed his disappointment at the state for failing to forward the charges on time.
The state has assured the court that within a week, all charges will be handed over to the defense team.
Attorney Khumalo also informed the court that he would bring along a colleague for assistance on his next appearance.
The matter has been remanded to 28 May 2026 to allow the state to finalise paperwork.
