Sexual assault suspect appears before court

POLOKWANE – Makhado FSC have arrested a 44-year-old male suspect following a sexual assault incident at Rabali Zone 1 on 16 November 2024. The suspect appeared before Makhado Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 19 November 2024, and his case was remanded to Friday, 22 November 2024, for formal bail application.

According to police reports, the grandmother was notified by the cousin that her two grandchildren, ages 7 and 3 years, were found in the house with the teacher. The teacher was undressed and ordered a 7-year-old to touch his private parts. After hearing the news, the grandmother reported the incident to the police, who opened a sexual assault case.

The docket was transferred to the Makhado Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit for further investigations.

The suspect was arrested on Monday, 18 November 2024, on charges of sexual assault.

Police investigations are ongoing.
