Media Statement POLOKWANE – Seshego Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit has launched a manhunt for a rape suspect, unknown to the victim. The suspect allegedly raped a 17-year-old teenage girl and robbed her of an undisclosed amount of cash at Moletjie Monywaneng Seshego policing area, in Capricorn District on Friday 28 June 2024 at about 12:45. Reports suggest that the victim was on her way from Moletjie Ga-Rankhuwe to Monywaneng to buy electricity. Along the way, she met an unknown man. He demanded money from her and further dragged her into the nearby bushes, where he raped her, and then fled the scene on foot. The victim reported the incident to the police, and a rape case was opened at Seshego police station. The case was transferred to Seshego Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offenses Unit for further investigation.
