South Africa brace yourselves for the new songwriter and vocalist.
Setheer whose real name is Sethembele Zikhali, is a Songwriter from Mandeni in the North of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) is a self-taught artist with a natural ear for melody and storytelling.
“My vision is that I want to tell my story through music. Growing up in the villages made realise that there are many stories to be shared but I realized that I have to use my talent to tell my stories. I began writing music at school and while I noticed that people were accepted to my creative writing skills I decided to focus on music,” he said.
Setheer is known for his versatility and ability to move effortlessly across different musical styles.
While he explores multiple genres, his signature sound is rooted in Amapiano and deep soulful house, inspired by renowned artists such as Kaylow and Russell Zuma to mention the few.
He began his musical journey in 2014, steadily developing his craft and gaining recognition for his rich, emotive vocal tone and authentic songwriting.
Setheer has grown into a seasoned recording artist, continuing to refine his sound under Slvvane Records, where he has been able to expand his creative direction and reach new audiences.
His recent released a track titled, KwaMashu featuring Beast RSA where he highlights his vocal strength and musical maturity.
Setheer has also collaborated with several notable artists, including Nomakhosini on the well-received single Inhlonipho, as well as Ayarhkay on the motivational track Impumelelo, further showcasing his range and ability to adapt to different sonic landscapes.
In recognition of his contribution to the local arts community, Setheer received an Appreciation Award from the Mandeni Creative Art Show, honoring his role as a key participant in the main event and his continued support of creative development.
