Media Statement ZWELITSHA – A team of seasoned detectives are on the ground in tracing the suspects involved in a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, 04 December 2024, at Mente Location, Willowvale. Four counts of murder cases have been opened at Willowvale police station. Information indicates that the Headman and his siblings were traveling in a Toyota Cross towards Willowvale Central Business District when two Toyota Avanza vehicles appeared from different directions. It is alleged that these Avanza vehicles dropped two people from each car next to the road. The two vehicles then turned back to the directions they were coming from. It is further alleged that one of the Avanza vehicles came back and stopped the Toyota Cross, and gunshots were heard. On investigation police found the vehicle on the river embankment. Four male bodies aged between 34 and 59 were found. Three were inside the vehicle while one was out of the vehicle. The motive for the shooting is unclear at the moment and will form part of the continuing investigation by the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Investigation Unit.
