Search operation activated to locate missing 8-year-old boy from Khakhala village in Muyexe

POLOKWANE – Police in Limpopo have launched an extensive search operation to locate a missing 8-year-old boy, Rifumo Chabalala residing at Khakhala village in Muyexe policing area outside Giyani under Mopani District who went missing on Monday afternoon, 03 June 2024.

According to the preliminary information, the child left home at about 16:00 to play with friends at the local soccer field but never returned home.

The family of the 8-year-old boy reported the matter to the local Police the following day on (Tuesday) and subsequently, a joint search operation ensued composed of the SAPS Muyexe and Giyani members, Search and Rescue unit and K9 Unit, supported by community members which went all over the area searching for the victim with no success.

Police appeal to anyone with information that can assist with reuniting the child with his family to urgently contact the investigating officer Warrant Officer Tinyiko Mabasa on 067 565 0240 or Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or the nearest Police Station. Alternatively, use MySAPSApp.
