Media Statement NORTHERN CAPE – The Kimberley SAPS are investigating an inquest into the death of a 36-year-old man who allegedly drowned in a water pit in Ronaldsvlei, Kimberley. On Friday, 07 February 2025 at about 11:00 the SAPS Search and Rescue teams from the Northern Cape and Free State retrieved the body of the male from the approximately 11 metre deep water pit. The deceased is believed to be a resident in that area. The family reported the matter to the police after they found his shoes floating in the water of the pit after searching for him two days ago.
