Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Begins Prison Sentence at Fort Dix
Music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has begun serving his 50-month prison sentence at Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey. Combs was transferred to the facility on October 30, 2025, after being convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Combs’ legal team had specifically requested that he serve his sentence at Fort Dix, citing the prison’s drug treatment program and its proximity to his family as key factors in their decision. The facility is known for offering educational and treatment programs, which will allow Combs to focus on rehabilitation during his time behind bars.
Combs will serve approximately two and a half years of his sentence, with his projected release date set for May 8, 2028. He will receive credit for the 13 months he has already spent in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Inmates at Fort Dix can purchase everyday items like rice cakes, white tuna, and Pop-Tarts at the commissary.
Combs’ legal team is appealing his conviction and sentence, and has asked a federal appeals court to set an expedited schedule. Additionally, Combs has requested a pardon from President Donald Trump, but no decision has been made on this request.
Fort Dix has housed other high-profile inmates, including Joe Giudice, a former cast member of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey”. Combs’ time at the facility will likely be marked by routine and rules, a significant departure from his life of luxury as a music mogul ¹
