SCWO Mokete Petrus Tladi was born in Theunissen in the Free State and grew up in Botshabelo in the Free State.
He joined the SADF in July 1991 at 1 Parachute Battalion, where he received his basic military training. After basic training in 1992 he joined the pathfinder cycle whereby on completion he became a Pathfinder Operator.
SCWO Tladi was integrated into the SANDF in 1994. In 1995 he attended and successfully completed the Junior Leaders Course (JL part 1 and 2) at Infantry School.
SCWO Tladi occupied different posts in the Pathfinders such as operator, Pathfinder team 2IC, Pathfinder team leader, Pathfinder Quarter Master Sergeant, and Pathfinder Warrant Officer. In 2008 SCWO Tladi was one of the instructors that trained the first rebel groups that were integrated in FARDC in the DRC.
In 2009 SCWO Tladi attended and completed desert training in Tunisia and in 2010 he was Company Sergent Major in B Coy during Ops MISTRAL in the DRC.
SCWO Tladi has attended and successfully completed all courses required for a Warrant Officer in the SA Army. In 2016 he completed the Joint Warrant Officers Programme (JWOP) at the Warrant Officers Academy. In 2011 he was transferred to 14 SAI Bn as OHS Coordinator and in 2012 he was recalled to 1 Parachute Bn as RSM. In 2013 he became the Parachute Sergeant Major until May 2018. In June 2018 he was appointed as Army Support Formation Sergeant Major.
On the 01st of November 2021 he was appointed as the SA Army Sergeant Major. SCWO Tladi has acquired the necessary experience in external and internal deployment and he also participated in numerous airborne and military exercises internally and externally.
SCWO Tladi is married to Jwalane and they are blessed with two boys.
