Saudi Clubs Circle as Interest in Teboho Mokoena Resurfaces

Bafana Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena could finally be on his way to Saudi Arabia, with reports linking him to two clubs from the Gulf nation ahead of the new season.
According to reports from Saudi media, Al Taawoun and Al-Ettifaq are both interested in securing the services of the Mamelodi Sundowns star.
This is not the first time Mokoena has attracted attention from overseas clubs. The midfield general has been linked with a move away from Chloorkop on several occasions in recent years, but Sundowns have always managed to keep hold of one of their most influential players.
However, with renewed interest emerging, questions are once again being asked about whether the Betway Premiership champions will be willing to let him leave this time around.
Mokoena remains a key figure for both Sundowns and Bafana Bafana, thanks to his leadership qualities, passing range and ability to control matches from midfield.
Should a move to Al-Ettifaq materialise, the 28-year-old would reunite with fellow Bafana Bafana international Mohau Nkota, who recently joined the Saudi club from Orlando Pirates.
The coming weeks could prove crucial as Sundowns weigh up their options regarding one of South African football’s most valuable assets.
For now, Mokoena remains a Sundowns player, but Saudi Arabia’s interest shows no signs of fading.
