SAPS seizes car linked to Olorato Mongale’s murder, owner arrested
The South African Police Service has seized a VW Polo believed to have been used in the murder of 30-year-old Olorato Mongale.
The car was recovered at a panel beater workshop in Phoenix, Durban, and its elderly owner has been arrested.
The operation, led by the SAPS anti-kidnapping task team and Crime Intelligence Unit, followed leads from Johannesburg to Durban. Forensic experts found blood traces in the vehicle.
Two suspects, Fezile Ngubane and Philangenkosi Sibongokuhle Makhanya, are still on the run.
Police have warned that the pair is dangerous and urged the public not to approach them. Anyone with information should contact Brigadier Nama at 082 778 9035.
SAPS Commissioner General Fannie Masemola has praised the joint efforts of police units and private security in the ongoing investigation.
