Media Statement POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Sebayeng under Capricorn District on Wednesday, 24 July 2024 hosted a constructive meeting with representatives from Community Policing Forums (CPF) across Sebayeng policing area. The gathering, held at the Police Station, was led by the Station Commander Captain Nkwinika and aimed at fostering strong partnerships with local communities to enhance safety and security. The CPF Station Executive was led by Ms Talakgale. In attendance was also the VISPOL Commander Warrant Officer Molepo, coordinators Sergeant Dikgale, Sergeant Moreroa, Sergeant Maphosa and Detective Warrant Officer Marotola. Other distinguished guests included the Capricorn District Chairperson Mr Makwela and District Deputy Secretary Ms Rakgole. The meeting served as a platform to discuss critical issues affecting community safety. The key topics included collaborative strategies where the participants exchanged insights on effective collaborative strategies to address local crime challenges and improve law enforcement-community relations. The other crucial topic was the community concerns where CPF representatives highlighted community-specific safety concerns and provided first-hand accounts of challenges faced by residents, fostering a deeper understanding among all participants. Furthermore, the members discussed operational updates. The SAPS officials presented updates on recent law enforcement operations, and initiatives aimed at crime prevention and response within the policing area. The meeting concluded with a commitment to strengthen communication channels, enhance joint initiatives, and implement targeted interventions to create safer neighbourhoods. Ends
