BLOEMFONTEIN – The Free State SAPS scooped a golden award of achievement and another trophy at the Annual Bloem Show this year. The Free State South African Police Service was honored with a Golden Award as the Best Inside Exhibitor in the 2024 Bloem Show. The SAPS stall is in Cosmos Hall at the show housing units such as K9, Public Order Policing, Diving, Social Crime Prevention, Forensics Services, Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses, Hawks (DPCI), Technology Management Services, Accident Combating as well as Corporate Communications and Liaison. On 29 April 2024, the team received the trophy for being the best inside exhibition in the exhibition halls. At the show, there were 330 exhibitors, which makes this a prestigious achievement. This is the third year in a row that the SAPS has flown the flag high. It is the dedication and high standard that each component brings that make this exhibition a success.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in the Free State, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, is overwhelmed with joy as this demonstrates excellence by the members and enhances the image of the Police. “The SAPS stall has done it again. I commend the members for a job well done. Let’s continue to raise awareness so that our community members can take care of themselves, as their safety begins with them,” said Lt Gen Motswenyane.
