Media Statement PRETORIA – The South African Police Service (SAPS), led by the Acting Deputy National Commissioner for Support Services, Lieutenant General Lineo Nkhuoa in partnership with ASSUPOL hosted a Women’s Growth and Development Symposium in Pretoria earlier today, 07 June 2024. The purpose of the symposium was to empower female senior managers with knowledge on financial planning, leadership, and overall emotional well-being. The event also provided a platform for information sharing and exchange of best practices. Also in attendance was ASSUPOL Sales Executive, Ms Virginia Nkosi; Advocate Nakedi Ribane; Divisional Head: Women Distribution Channel, Ms Lusanda Masombuka and Clinical Psychologist, Dr Kgadi Thobejane. In her keynote address, Lt Gen Nkhuoa said that women can never be complacent as the world out there is “hungry” for change and encouraged attendees to truly understand the purpose of being a civil servant.
“We, the women in this room, have an incredible opportunity to truly shine. Seize every opportunity that comes your way, and let’s show everyone how women in SAPS excel. Know your worth. Go out there and continue to make us proud. Brighten the corner where you are,” Lt Gen Nkhuoa concluded.
