Media Statement BLOEMFONTEIN – The Office of the Provincial Commissioner for Free State Province, would like to place it on record that we are aware of a circulating video clip of one of the members of the South African Police Service, Sergeant Gambu stationed at Marquard SAPS. Policies of the organisation are very clear when it comes to issues pertaining employer and employee, especially discussing them on any public platform. The member voluntarily decided to open his personal file in public and as the organisation we are not going to do the same, but rather find a solution and provide necessary support to the member without violating any organisational prescripts. The office of the District Commissioner under which the member is serving is handling the matter and we have trust in its capability to deal with the problems as raised by the member. It will be irresponsible and insensitive to respond further or discuss his personal matters on any public platform as he is doing. We want to assure the public which expect to receive services from members of this organisation that they will still receive such services and the member will continue to get necessary support wherever such support is needed through our Employee Health and Wellness.
