In a swift and coordinated response, police in the North West have arrested two suspects linked to the brutal murder of an elderly couple (pictured) during a road rage incident at the Platinum Shopping Centre on June 14.
The suspects, aged 29 and 41, were apprehended after a public outcry and the viral circulation of images showing their white Kia Rio with shattered windows.
The suspects are accused of fatally shooting a married couple, aged 66 and 69, during an altercation involving three African males.
Thanks to community tip-offs and rapid police intervention, investigators recovered the firearm used in the shooting a major breakthrough in the case.
The arrests were confirmed by national police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.
