Military tensions are escalating between Pakistan and India, as both sides accuse each other of carrying out drone strikes and cross-border attacks that have resulted in civilian casualties.
Pakistani military sources reported that their forces had shot down 77 drones over the past two days, with wreckage visible in multiple cities. In contrast, an Indian army spokesperson claimed that between 300 and 400 Pakistani drones had entered Indian airspace, although this figure could not be independently confirmed.
Pakistan has denied these accusations, alleging instead that India fabricated the drone incidents. Early Saturday, Pakistan’s military claimed that Indian forces mistakenly bombed their own territory in Amritsar, but no supporting evidence was provided.
Meanwhile, both sides continue to exchange artillery and missile fire, particularly along the contested Line of Control (LoC). On Friday, shelling in Pakistan-administered areas killed five civilians, including a two-year-old girl, according to local officials. Across the border, Indian authorities reported that one woman was killed and two men were injured in similar attacks.
The growing violence has heightened fears of further escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, with civilians bearing the brunt of the conflict.
