Media Statement NORTHERN CAPE – The Frances Baard District Commissioner, Major General Charlotte Makgari, accompanied by the Provincial Head for Corporate Communication, Brigadier Mashay Gamieldien, Station Commissioner of Kimberley SAPS, Brigadier Nicky Mtongana, the Station Commander of Roodepan SAPS, Col Pieter Jansen, the Local Community Police Forum, Religious leaders and SAPS members from Roodepan Station were encouraged during an appreciation church service hosted by local religious leaders. The appreciation church service was led by Kimberley CRC church and held at Pescodia High school on Wednesday, 04 December 2024 and specifically targeted to uplift the Roodepan SAPS members. The service started with a welcoming address by the Roodepan SAPS Station, Col Pieter Jansen and the opening prayer by Archbishop Dudley Bouwers. Mark Kotze, a motivational speaker shared his life journey with the audience and also motivated and uplifted the morale of the SAPS members. He reminded them that they are doing outstanding work and that people’s lives are being changed daily and he is a testimony of that truth. Pastor Richard Williams from the Kimberley CRC church brought a powerful sermon that spoke about the calling and purpose of all the SAPS members and relayed sincere appreciation for the work we do, especially as we are in the Festive Season period and beyond. The Provincial Coordinator from the Office of the Premier, Pastor Mbuyiselo Mguzulwa also rendered a message of support and prayed for protection, wisdom and success over the police for the Festive Season operations. The service was concluded with a vote of thanks by the Kimberley SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Nicky Mtongana. Ends
