Robert Emil Reinchardt, 47, appeared in the Randburg Magistrates Court on March 3, 2025, for violating the Administration of Estates Act. He allegedly attempted to fraudulently claim over R500,000 from a deceased person’s estate in 2020 by obtaining a letter of executorship through an attorney. FNB’s fraud department discovered he was not related to the deceased and reported the case to the Hawks. Reinchardt was arrested on February 28, 2025, at Durban Harbour and was granted R3,000 bail. The case was postponed to March 11, 2025, for the appointment of an attorney.
