Rachel Kolisi has stepped down as CEO of the Kolisi Foundation, the organization she co-founded with her ex-husband Siya Kolisi in 2019.
Her departure, following their divorce announcement in October 2024, was confirmed through subtle changes to her Instagram bio and a farewell post from The Justice Desk, an anti-GBV NGO.
The post, shared on March 1, 2025, acknowledged Rachel’s significant contributions to programs such as iNtsika yeThemba and Mbokodo, expressing both sadness and optimism for her future endeavors. In her response, Rachel thanked the team, saying, “Love and appreciate you all so much.”
The Kolisi Foundation, which focuses on tackling inequality, food security, and education, had been a joint effort from the start.
Despite their split, both Rachel and Siya initially vowed to continue collaborating on the foundation’s mission. However, Rachel’s resignation signals a significant shift, possibly reflecting personal changes after the divorce, though no official explanation has been given beyond her updated bio.
Rachel had served as CEO since 2022, following Mahlatse Mashua’s tenure, and her departure may mark the end of a chapter in the foundation’s leadership. As she moves forward with new ventures, including a recent 21-day fitness challenge launched by Bona Magazine, questions arise about the potential impact on the foundation’s future direction.
