Media Statement KOMANI – On 28 March 2025, Komani Crime Intelligence (CI), Queenstown Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) and Queenstown Flying Squad during Operation Shanela arrested nine suspects aged between 25 and 51 for allegations of possession and /or dealing in drugs at Komani and Ezibeleni respectively. On 28 March 2025, the joint team in an intelligence driven operation searched four homesteads at Ezibeleni and five homesteads at Komani. During the search, a large quantity of boss mandrax and tik with a collective street value of R170 000 were seized in the respective homesteads. A total of nine suspects were arrested during the search and seizure operation. Five suspects will appear before Komani Magistrate’s Court while four suspects are set to appear before Ezibeleni Magistrate’s Court on Monday 31 March 2025. The joint team is given a thumbs up by the District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph for the sterling job in an endeavour to create a drug free society. Ends
