DURBAN – A major breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking has taken place in KwaZulu-Natal, where police uncovered drugs valued at more than R10 million and arrested a 37-year-old foreign national during a targeted operation in Quarry Heights.
Acting on reliable intelligence, members of the Provincial Drugs and Firearms Unit tracked down a suspect believed to be a key player in the distribution of illegal substances in the region. Their investigation led them to a residence on Caters Street, where they discovered large quantities of heroin, crystal meth, and cocaine.
In a further twist, officers also found an unlicensed firearm and 47 rounds of ammunition at the same location, raising alarm over the potential danger posed by the suspect.
Authorities confirmed that the man will appear in court to face multiple charges, including drug dealing and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Officials have praised the operation as a significant step in dismantling criminal networks and urged the public to stay alert and report suspicious activities to help combat the ongoing drug crisis in the province.
