A draft resolution circulating among delegates strongly condemns Israel’s actions, accusing it of committing atrocities that threaten any chance of peace and coexistence. Israel has rejected these accusations.

While the summit has drawn significant attention, experts believe a direct military response is unlikely. Instead, leaders are expected to push for stronger political and diplomatic pressure.

The US has reacted carefully to the incident. President Donald Trump praised Qatar as an ally but warned that all sides must be cautious when carrying out military operations.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, currently visiting Israel, expressed unease over how the strike unfolded. He is scheduled to meet with Israeli leaders to discuss the ongoing war in Gaza and broader regional concerns.

United Nations Condemns Strike

The UN Security Council has criticized Israel’s attack on Doha, urging de-escalation and expressing support for Qatar.

Israel defended its decision, with President Isaac Herzog stating the strike was necessary to pressure Hamas toward a deal to end the war.

Casualties and Fallout

Hamas confirmed that its negotiation team survived the strike, but five members were killed, including the son of a senior negotiator. A Qatari security officer also lost his life.

Qatar has long played a central role in mediation efforts, hosting Hamas’ political bureau since 2012 and acting as a key middleman in indirect negotiations. The country also remains a close ally of the United States, with a major American airbase stationed near Doha.
