Macpherson faces threats to his life amid investigation into R800 million PSA oxygen plant tender
Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Dean Macpherson, provided an update on the independent investigation into the R800 million Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Plant tender, managed by the Independent Development Trust (IDT).
The investigation, led by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), was launched following allegations of corruption and irregularities in the tender process.
The tender in question involved the awarding of contracts to three companies, two of which were not registered with the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA), and one that may have submitted fraudulent documentation.
Minister Macpherson emphasized his determination to see the investigation through, asserting that he would not be deterred by smear campaigns, political pressure and threats to his life.
The ongoing inquiry aims to ensure accountability and transparency in the management of public funds, with authorities scrutinizing the legitimacy of the contracts awarded and the companies involved in the tender process.
