ZWELITSHA – The Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene has welcomed the newly appointed Constables of Amathole and Buffalo City Districts today 24 December 2024. In her address, she emphasized discipline and that they must serve the community with respect and dignity. She warned the Constables not to partake on any form of corruption as they will be dismissed and lose their jobs. After the welcoming, they embarked on Festive Season Operations and conducted a roadlock on the R61 with the aim to search for illegal firearms, drugs and dangerous weapons. The Provincial Commissioner and the District Commissioners of Amathole and Buffalo City Districts walked about at the Mall and taxi rank at Qonce and shared some safety tips with the public. Ends
