Media Statement MPUMALANGA – On Wednesday , 4 December 2024, information regarding a drug dealer (25), who was spotted waiting at Embalenhle, for his delivery of drugs from a taxi driving from Gauteng Province. A team comprising of Secunda based Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Secunda Crime Intelligence and Secunda Dog Unit (K9), under the Project DANELLE, operationalised the information. The information was liaised with Secunda K9 Unit, and the suspect was intercepted immediately upon receiving the drugs. A total of 245 pieces of rock cocaine valued at approximately R10,000.00 were seized. The suspect was arrested, charged and detained pending his court appearance on Thursday, 05 December 2024 The Provincial Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, Major General Gerber, applauded the multidisciplinary intelligence driven operation, which led to the arrest of the target, aiming to dismantle the syndicate group. The General said that “through the joint effort of security agencies and the public, we shall overcome the scourge of narcotics which is destroying the future of our beautiful country.” Ends
