Prince William has been compared to a chip off the old block – his father, King Charles – amid allegations of his affair with rumoured long-time mistress Rose Hanbury.
The heir to the throne has been accused of cheating on his wife Kate Middleton, just as his father did with his mother, the late Princess Diana.
Rumours of the alleged affair have come to light amid speculation of Kate’s recent whereabouts.
According to social media sleuths, Kate and William have “secretly separated” over his alleged transgression, reports Newsweek.
PRINCE WILLIAM ‘AFFAIR’ WITH ROSE HANBURY
In 2019, In Touch magazine published a rumour that Prince William had had an affair with Rose Hanbury – a neighbour and close friend to his wife, Kate Middleton.
According to the publication, the affair began when Kate was pregnant with their third child, son Louis.
Rose – whose title is the Marchioness of Cholmondeley – is married to David Rocksavage.
The publication claims that Kate confronted William over the rumours, of which he laughed off. There is also speculation that the confrontation led to Kate and Rose severing their friendship.
Rose has a long history with the Royal Family. Her grandmother, Lady Elizabeth Lambart, was a bridesmaid for the 1947 wedding of William’s grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Rose’s son, Lord Oliver, was also one of four Pages of Honour for King Charles’s coronation ceremony last year.
Fast forward to 2024, and many social media users believe Kate Middleton’s “disappearance” from the public eye may have something to do with Prince William and Rose.
Kate – who was last publicly seen on Christmas Day – underwent a “planned abdominal surgery” in January.
‘CHEATING’ CHARLES AND CAMILLA
Meanwhile, social media users have compared Prince William to his father, Charles, who infamously embarked on an affair with then-mistress Camilla Parker-Bowles while he was married to Princess Diana.
While the British king and queen are happily married, they were once embroiled in scandal after beginning an affair in 1986. This, despite Charles marrying Princess Diana in 1981.
According to leaked tapes made by Diana, she confronted Camilla about the affair at a party in 1989.
Diana said of her confrontation with Camilla: “She said to me: ‘You’ve got everything you ever wanted. You’ve got all the men in the world fall in love with you, and you’ve got two beautiful children. What more do you want?’. So I said: ‘I want my husband’. And I said, ‘I’m sorry I’m in the way…and it must be hell for both of you. But I do know what’s going on. Don’t treat me like an idiot’”.
In 1992, Charles and Diana officially separated. A year later, a secret recording of a phone call between Charles and Camilla is leaked. And media ran with all the explicit details of their sexualised conversation.
In 1995, Camilla separated from her own husband, Andrew Parker Bowles. That same year, Princess Diana’s bombshell Panorama interview with Martin Bashir is released. In it, she infamously said of her relationship: “Well, there were three of us in this marriage. So it was a bit crowded.”
Diana would die in a fiery car crash in 1997 in Paris. Charles and Camilla would officially tie the knot in 2005, 35 years after they first met.
