POLOKWANE – The members of the South African Police Service in Musina, under Vhembe District, recovered five rifles, one pistol and a stolen vehicle, following a house robbery incident that occurred at one of the farmhouses at Musina policing area, during the early hours of Wednesday, 08 January 2025. According to preliminary reports, the Police were summoned to the scene and upon arrival, they were informed that a group of armed suspects entered into the victim’s house at one of the farms. They found a couple and their three minor children. They allegedly threatened them with firearms and robbed them of electronic appliances such as TV, laptop, and microwave, amongst other items. The suspects also opened the safe in the house and stole firearms before they fled the scene with the victim’s vehicle. The victims managed to seek help from the neighbour, who immediately activated the police. The victims were tortured and sustained serious injuries during the robbery incident. They were then taken to the hospital for medical treatment. A house robbery case was registered for further Police investigations. Following investigations, the police recovered six firearms: 05 rifles and 01 pistol at an RDP house that the suspects intended to rent at Campbell (Cambo), and the victim’s vehicle was found abandoned near a dumping site in Musina policing area. The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has hailed the swift recovery of the firearms and urged the police to intensify efforts to apprehend the suspects. Lastly, the Provincial Commissioner also wished the victims a speedy recovery.
