Police Minister Senzo Mchunu testifies before the SAPS Ad Hoc Committee investigating alleged corruption and political interference within the criminal justice system.
Mchunu has been giving evidence on Thursday, 16 October, concluding on Friday, 17 October, before returning next week for questions.
Mchunu, who is currently on special leave, has been accused of ordering the disbandment of the Political Killings Task Team, allegedly without proper briefing — a move KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi described as “misjudged.”
Former Police Minister Bheki Cele is expected to testify next.
