POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service in Limpopo has initiated a manhunt in response to a tragic shooting incident that transpired on Sunday night, 31 March 2024, at approximately 23:00 in Motetema, outside Groblersdal. The incident resulted in the loss of life of a respected local businessman and left two others wounded. According to preliminary reports, the victim, a 38-year-old businessman, was socializing with friends near their vehicle outside a tavern in Leeufontein village when an unidentified assailant indiscriminately opened fire on the group. Tragically, the businessman sustained fatal injuries, succumbing to multiple gunshot wounds on the scene, while his companions were promptly transported to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. The police have registered a case of murder alongside two charges of attempted murder in connection with the appalling incident. The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has unequivocally stated that a dedicated team of investigators is diligently working to apprehend the perpetrator and ensure that justice is served.
