Media Statement BLOEMFONTEIN – The police in Mangaung Metro are looking for the suspect(s) in a gruesome murder case that occurred in Thaba Nchu at an open veld near Ragogo Dam on Sunday 09 June 2024. According to reports, a vehicle tracking company received an alarm of tampering with system and immediately responded towards to coordinates given. It is alleged that the responder arrived at the scene at about 09:55 and found a Kia 1Tonner mini truck engulfed with flames. On closer inspection the responder noticed two bodies burning at the back of the truck. He immediately called for assistance; Fire and Rescue as well as the police arrived. The fire was extinguished and the police noticed that the two charred bodies were tied at the back with cable tie and wire. Local Criminal Records Centre members arrived to process the scene and a spent 9mm cartridge was collected as evidence. Emergency Health Services personnel declared the two victims dead. A case of murder was opened at Thaba Nchu Police Station.
