Media Statement NORTHERN CAPE – The Springbok Public Order Police Unit continues to clamp down on the illegal drug trade, when members from C-Platoon arrested a 41-year-old man for possession of Mandrax worth approximately R30 000-00. The police followed up on information and executed way-lay duties at the Engen Garage in Voortrekker Rd in Springbok. The suspect was spotted taking a bag from the trash bin and stashing it in a tree not far from the bridge on the N14 road. Police pounced on the unsuspecting suspect and found the Mandrax tablets inside the bag. He was arrested and charged with possession of drugs and will appear in the Springbok Magistrates’ Court soon. The police encourage the community to participate in the “RATE OUR SERVICE” QR online survey and assist the police in improving our service to the public.
Communities are also urged to continue sharing information regarding criminal activities in order to bring perpetrators to book and remove drugs from our streets.
