Media Statement PRINCE ALFRED HAMLET – Police in the Western Cape located a 61-year-old man from the mountains in Prince Alfred Hamlet following an extensive search of eight days after he was reported missing. On Sunday, 12 May 2024, the wife of Patrick Xhibu reported him missing at the Prince Alfred Hamlet police station. A joint search operation between Prince Alfred Hamlet Crime Prevention Unit members and detectives in conjunction with the SAPS Air wing searched the mountains on foot as the area could not be accessed with vehicles. Their efforts paid off this morning when he was found on the mountain. He was found in a state of dehydration and hunger and was airlifted to a nearby hospital for medical care. The police management in the Western Cape commended all role-players involved in the search and rescue of Patrick and being reunited with his family. Ends
