Media Statement POLOKWANE – Members of SAPS, in collaboration with the Community Policing Forum (CPF), have conducted ‘Back To School’ campaigns at two schools, namely; Kgapane Secondary and Modubatse Secondary in Bolobedu policing vicinity under Mopani District, on Thursday, 23 January 2025. The purpose of the campaigns was to engage with learners at the secondary level in order to educate them about criminal activities in their area and to also motivate them as the new academic year has kick-started. In attendance was the Members of Department of Transport and Community Safety, Ms Matlou and Mr Maake, CPF Board PRO, Mr Ally Ramoshaba, National Chairperson of Youth Crime Prevention Desk Mr Kabelo Machete, Mopani District CPF Mr Eddy Makgobatlou, SAPS members from Provincial Proactive Policing and Social Crime Prevention represented by Colonel Kekana, Colonel Maja and Lieutenant Colonel Malefo, Provincial Corporate Communication represented by Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Sergeant Ramakgoakgoa and Sergeant Mamabolo, the Station Commander of Bolobedu Colonel Maluleke, members of Social Crime Prevention and other stakeholders. The following issues were discussed by various speakers as per below:
During the visit at both the schools, learners were advised to respect their parents and teachers. In an effort to create a conducive learning and teaching environment, learners were urged to report any criminal activities to the Police. The Police will continue to work closely with the teachers and learners through Social Crime coordinators to ensure safer schools. Ends
