Police arrest wanted suspects with the community’s assistance

THABONG – On the 05 June 2024 at about 13:30 a 32-year-old suspect was arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old boy on 29 May 2024. The second rapist still on the run.

On 06 June 2024, information was operationalised from Crime Intelligence about a male suspect wanted for Murder and Robbery committed during April 2024. A 33-year-old man was arrested in a house at 2010 Village, Thabong.

Another information was received on 06 June 2024 about a suspect wanted for murder committed through mob justice where the deceased was accused of raping a minor in 2010 Village, Thabong. Residents assisted the SAPS which led to the arrest of a 29-year-old suspect.

Then members were informed about the most wanted suspect for rape and assault who was on the run. A 31-year-old suspect was arrested in Sunrise, Thabong.

All these suspects who have committed serious crimes in Thabong were arrested by Welkom Public Order Policing under the leadership Warrant Officer Thabo Booy. The suspects are expected to appear before Welkom Magistrate Court on Monday, 10 June 2024.
