Media Statement CAPE TOWN – An intelligence driven operation between the Provincial Anti-Economic and Counterfeit Task Team and Crime Intelligence yielded success when they arrested a 36-year-old man and a 38-year-old female for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition on Monday, 10 February 2025. The members searched a premises in Watford Street, Mfuleni after they gathered information about firearms being kept at the identified premises. They ensued with a search of the premises and found a .22 revolver with ammunition in the house. The suspects could not produce a firearm license or permit for the firearm and was subsequently arrested. They will appear in the Blue Down’s Magistrates’ Court once they have been charged. Ends
