WESTERN CAPE – Continued efforts to remove unlicensed firearms from the streets in our communities yielded success when police members arrested two suspects for the illegal possession of a firearm on Saturday, 20 July 2024. Members of Lockdown 3 were busy with crime prevention operations in the Balvenie, Elsies River area, when they saw two males walking in their direction. One of the males then threw something on the ground when he saw the police members approaching. They were searched and the surrounding where they were standing and the members found a .38 special revolver with ammunition on the ground. Both adult males were arrested for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. They will appear in the Goodwood Magistrates’ court once they have been charged. Ends
