Police arrest suspects for possession of suspected explosives

KIMBERLEY – The Provincial Organised Crime Security Intelligence, assisted by the Kimberley Flying Squad, Kimberley K9 Unit and the Bomb Disposal Unit arrested two suspects, for possession of suspected explosives in Galeshewe on Wednesday, 05 June 2024.

The police followed up on information and activated an intelligence driven tactical operation in Seleke Street, observing the movement of suspects.

The police intercepted the suspects and arrested a 29-year-old female as well as a 36-year-old male, with the consignment of explosives.

The team seized shock tubes, exploret V6 blasting catridges and isogram cone packs.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Galeshewe Magistrates Court soon.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola commended the police units for their swift response and successful apprehension of the suspects.
