Police arrest suspect found in possession of two firearms

WESTERN CAPE – On Friday, 03 January 2025, members of Operation Restore were busy with crime prevention operations in the Delft policing precinct to curb gang violence and other related crimes in the area.

The members received information about a person that is walking in Ivoorhout Street, Delft, who is in possession of a firearm and a description was given. The suspect fitting the description was apprehended and searched and the members found a 9mm pistol, a .38 Special revolver and a knife in his possession. He was arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and possession of a dangerous weapon.

The suspect will appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ court on Monday.
