Media Statement LANGEBAAN – Combined efforts by members of SANPARKS, Langebaan Police, K9 Unit West Coast and Rural Flying Squad led to the arrest of seven suspects and the recovery of 123kg of copper cables with an estimated value of R17 835 and 28kg PVC wire. On Monday 10 February 2025 at around 00:15, members attached to West Coast National SANPARK were busy conducting patrols when they noticed the gate of a farm was cut open and closed again with a cable tie. The members suspected possible criminal activity as copper cables were previously stolen from the farm. The police units were summoned to the scene. The police members then proceeded to the premises and found four males in the act of cutting copper cables. The four suspects were apprehended on the spot. Upon further patrols, three more suspects were arrested and their vehicle was also confiscated. The seven males aged between 32 and 51 will appear in the Hopefield Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 13 February 2025. Ends
