NELSPRUIT – The Police in Hendrina are probing a farm attack, coupled with robbery, kidnapping, rape and murder. The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday night, 28 November 2024, in Hendrina, where the life of a male victim was sadly cut short during this horrific incident. According to information received, a neighbour became concerned after receiving a call from the victim’s employer indicating that he had not reported to work that day. The neighbour went to check on the victim and discovered a disturbing scene. The Police were immediately notified, and upon their arrival, they found the male victim under a canopy with no sign of life. An older man was also found inside a vehicle on the property. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding this incident are ongoing. It has been confirmed that a robbery was committed, during which the suspects stole various items including mobile phones before fleeing the scene. The victim’s wife was later found to have been kidnapped and dropped off at Embalenhle. Four mobile phones were recovered, and these items are believed to have been stolen during the robbery. The suspects are still at large, and the Police have initiated an investigation into this tragic incident. Police urge anyone with information that may assist in apprehending the suspects to call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via MySAPS App. All information received will be treated as confidential, and callers may choose to remain anonymous. The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) ZM Mkhwanazi, has assured the public that the Police will work tirelessly to ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are swiftly brought to justice.
