POLOKWANE – Three suspects aged between 34 and 37, were accosted separately at Thohoyandou and Mankweng policing areas for charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, possession of suspected stolen properties and possession of drugs, during joint operation held on Thursday, 21 March 2024. According to reports, members of Limpopo Vispol Task Team in Thohoyandou, Thohoyandou Police and Vhembe Public Order Policing arrested a 34-year-old suspect at Mavhambe village for possession of unlicensed firearm, following a tip-off. Meanwhile, in Mankweng policing area, two suspects were arrested at different locations for possession of dagga and possession of suspected stolen properties. A woman (37) was arrested after being found with copper wires weighing 21,6 and cash amount of R3060-00. Another male suspect was arrested at Mankweng for possession of dagga (47X sachets) at an estimated value of R940 and a cash amount of R3574. The provincial commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe applauded the collaborative work by teams involved during operations that yielded these results. The suspect will appear before Thohoyandou and Mankweng Magistrate Courts.
