Pirates bring Mabuza back — two players head to Gallants

Orlando Pirates have completed the permanent signing of Bheki Mabuza from Marumo Gallants, with two Buccaneers players moving the other way on loan.

The club confirmed an agreement has been reached for Mabuza’s return, calling it a homecoming for a player who was previously part of the setup.

“The move marks a return to familiar surroundings for Mabuza, who was previously part of the Buccaneers setup,” Pirates said.

The club said his spell away convinced them he is ready for the next step.

“During his time away from the club, Mabuza back made encouraging progress and impressed. His performances at Gallants convinced the club that he is ready to return and take the next step in his career.”

Pirates also confirmed outgoing deals: Daniel Msendami and Abdoulaye Mariko will join Marumo Gallants on season-long loans.

The double move gives Gallants extra bodies for the campaign while Pirates reclaim a player they already know — and believe has grown enough to push for a bigger role.
