Pimville Man In Court for Alleged Kidnapping And Rape of 16-Year-Old Girl

A man accused of kidnapping and raping a 16-year-old girl from Pimville has appeared before the Protea Magistrate’s Court in Soweto in Gauteng.

This case is linked to another rape case opened by the victim’s family in 2024.

The suspect, who worked as a school transport driver at the time, was released on bail that same year.

Although the court ruled that he was unfit to transport school children, he allegedly continued to do this work.
Ntsoaki Tamanyane, the victim’s mother, told the court that her daughter disappeared in February this year.

Following this, she opened a missing person’s case at the Kliptown Police Station.

With the help of the police and various organizations, the victim was eventually found at the suspect’s residence.

It is alleged that the suspect had locked the girl in a small room with no windows.

Tamanyane revealed that her daughter is now pregnant and stated that all she wants is to get justice for what happened.
The suspect has been remanded in custody.

The matter has been postponed to 21 July 2026 for a bail application.
