WESTERN CAPE – Drugs and liquor remains the major contributors towards GBV&F related crime in our province. Therefor all efforts are being pursued to crack down on these crime contributors in order to create safer communities. Vigilant members of Paarl East SAPS Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 27 years old suspect yesterday, Tuesday, 11 March 2025 after they followed up on information obtained about drug dealing. The members operationalised the information which led them to a house in Diza Street, Lantana, Paarl East where they ensued with a search. During the search they discovered and seized 4.7 kg dagga to the estimated street value of R10 000 as well as an undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealings. In an unrelated incident, on the same day, members attached to Boland Public Order Policing followed up information which led to the arrest of a 27 years old suspect for the possession of drugs. The members searched a house in Siyahala Street, Fairyland, Paarl East during which they discovered and seized 60 mandrax tablets, 64 sachets tik, 43 stops of dagga to the estimated street value of R4830.00. Both suspects are scheduled to appear in the Paarl Magistrates’ Court today on drug related charges. Ends
