Pirates provide major injury updates ahead of Sekhukhune clash
Orlando Pirates have confirmed a late setback ahead of their return to Betway Premiership action against Sekhukhune United tonight.
The Buccaneers will host Sekhukhune United at Orlando Amstel Arena – the game starts at 7.30pm.
In a statement, the club confirmed that Tshepang Moremi will miss the match after failing a late fitness test.
“The Buccaneers will be without Tshepang Moremi, who did not pass a late fitness test ahead of the encounter,” reads the statement.
The Bafana Bafana winger is continuing his recovery from the injury he sustained during Pirates’ 1-1 draw against AmaZulu.
Pirates also confirmed that Andre de Jong remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from injury.
The club also revealed that assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi will not be on the bench tonight.
“Having undergone emergency knee surgery during pre-season, coach Ncikazi has continued to experience discomfort following the procedure,” added the statement.
The club has given Ncikazi time away from his duties to focus on his recovery.
“The club has granted him a short period away from his duties to return to KwaZulu-Natal, where he will receive further medical attention and focus on his recovery.”
Pirates will now look to overcome the absences when they take on Sekhukhune United tonight.
